Finishing Line Press announces release of Flower Half Blown
Finishing Line Press announces a new title: Flower Half Blown. This chapbook of poetry by Cheryl Snell is part of the New Womwn's Voices Series.
These two dozen poems chronicle the unbridegeabe distances and unshakable intimacy of an aging love. From the title poem's riff on innocence to the scathing ending, this work reminds us how daily ephiphanies bring renewal; and reassures us that "when you wade out too far/I'll snatch you back/laughing like an impostor".
"This is a lovely book," says author Leah Maines."The poems are strong and mature. They really moved me."
Snell has published poems and stories in many literary journals, among them Antietam Review, Comstock Review, Petroglyph and Potomac Review. Her novel about the Indian diaspora, Shiva's Arms, was a finalist for the Omaha Prize in 1999.
Flower Half Blown (ISBN 0-9718922-1-0)is twenty-seven pages, in softcover with original art. The cost is $12.00 and can be ordered from Finishing Line Press,PO Box 1016, Cincinnati,OH 45201-1016.
